Betting on Dead Rubber Soccer Matches

Games that involve two teams who have nothing at stake are commonly referred to as dead rubbers. These games are usually found at the end of a long league season when players are going through the motions and trying to remain injury free. Matches like this tend to lack a competitive edge in some respects and this can have a significant impact on the eventual result.

Most experts would advise against betting on dead rubber soccer matches. This is due to doubts over the effort and commitment of the two sides involved. These games can throw up surprising results and the outcome can be difficult to predict. Profitable soccer betting can be difficult to accomplish at the best of times and games where nothing is at stake make the task even harder.

If you are determined to bet on dead rubbers then the draw should be respected especially if the game features two evenly matched teams. The lack of competitiveness can often see games peter out into a draw. Stalemates such as this can be very frustrating for the spectators but are highly profitable for those who have bet on the draw. This is because the odds for this particular result are always on the generous side.

For example, if you use a £50 stake and bet on the draw with odds of 3.9 then you would be looking at a return of £145. That is very good work by anyone's standards and it is a much better return than many short priced options deliver. Because the draw gives such an impressive return, the success rate doesn't have to be as high as it normally would. This allows plenty of room for losing bets which will not harm the overall profitability of this technique.

Betting on dead rubber soccer matches is an acquired taste. The major downside is the limited number of games. They appear at certain times of the league season. However, when they do appear there is plenty to choose from. If a team languishes in mid-table it may have lost the competitive streak. This is due to the fact they have no realistic objective in terms of promotion or relegation. Towards the end of the season especially, there are a huge number of dead rubber games to bet on.

Betting on International Soccer Matches

Every country has their own domestic leagues whether it is the English Premiership, the Spanish La Liga or the Italian Serie A. Most people who try their hand at soccer betting usually make the mistake of only concentrating on domestic league games. The cut and thrust of league matches can throw up unexpected results. This can damage your profits and leave weeks of hard work in tatters.

Betting on international soccer matches can be quite straightforward in terms of predicting the full time result. Of course, a certain amount of soccer knowledge is required for this to be possible. The reason these types of matches differ from conventional domestic games is that all the teams are well known to each other. This usually means the best team will prevail and have the better of the match.

International matches are played right through the year even when the domestic soccer season has finished. This satisfies both the soccer fans and betting enthusiasts appetite. It provides soccer betting opportunities during the close season when conventional matches are few and far between. This can be an invaluable source of income for the sport betting professional.

There are also a number of major international tournaments to capitalize on. The FIFA World Cup is held every two years as is the UEFA European Championships. Both these events also have comprehensive qualifying tournaments beforehand featuring even more games. You also have the regional events such as the African Nations Cup. This means there is always a huge number of games in the pipeline at any time of year.

Betting on international soccer matches is often overlooked in favour of the more glamorous league clashes. For the savvy punter this is a good thing and ensures the odds have sufficient value to produce an attractive profit. A year of international matches is sure to swell your betting bank provided you possess a good working knowledge of soccer.

Soccer Betting - The Most Popular Sport in the World

Although we would not know it based on airplay in North America, the game of soccer is the most popular sport in the world, by any measure. Soccer is the most watched, the most played, and the highest grossing sport on the planet, according to any study ever done on those topics. Soccer is relatively easy to get into, not requiring a lot of equipment at the very basic level, and it's no wonder that sports people can easily identify with it, and how it has become so popular.

When a sport is as well known and well loved as soccer is, you can be sure that there will be a high level of sports betting action following teams all over the world. The most money will be wagered in Europe, of course, the home of the highest grossing soccer leagues in the world. However, even in North America pitch fans will find ample opportunities to place a wager on their team, as there are several leagues operating in the United States and Canada.

One of the great things about sports betting is that it generally follows the same basic rules and patterns, no matter which sport one is interested in. Soccer betting has the same types of wagers to be placed as American football or baseball. As it is a relatively low scoring sport, those betting on soccer tend to play the money line. With money lines, a bet is placed on the team that the bettor thinks will win.

Money lines look like this:

Chicago Fire -180
Kansas City Wizards +120

Chicago is the favorite soccer club here, as far as the bookmakers are concerned. There are more wagers being placed on Chicago than on Kansas City, thus a bettor will have to pay $180 in order to win $100. On the other hand, if a bettor wants to take Kansas City as the underdog, he or she can win $120 if the Wizards take the match for every $100 wagered. Taking the underdog seems like the best value, but remember that they have to win the match in order for you to get that money!

There is a version in soccer betting of the spread, a very popular sports betting method for many sports. In soccer wagering, the spread is known as the goal line. The favorite team has a higher payout, but bets are only paid if the favored team wins by a set amount of goals (usually two). Conversely, if the underdog loses by less than two goals, those who bet on them (in the above example, the Wizards) will collect on their bets.

One of the advantages of soccer betting, at least in the United States and in Canada, is that there is a real chance to make some profit for those who know what they are doing. Soccer is not as popular as other sports, and is still at the "fan level" when it comes to sports betting. That means that the bets are still being placed mostly by fans of the game, who tend to pick their favorite teams. This means that many bets on underdogs are a good value, and can be taken advantage of by bettors with an idea about the teams, game, strategies, and history.

Which Teams Should You Back to Win English Premier League 2008-09 - Winning on Football Betting

English premiership is by far the most exciting and the popular of the football game and in the betting world. The new season will kick off in Aug'08 and will be ended in May'09. It last for a long haul of 9 months.

This event is dominating by the giant big 4 teams. These four teams are: Man u, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. Watching closely, you would know how much money has already pumped into and more talented players are transferred into these four teams. In fact they have built up a very successful system over the years. So it is very hard to beat them should you consider placing your bet on football "winning the tournament" market

In the exceptional year 1995, where Blackburn made a stunning upset and won the Premier League. Other than that, the big 4 have led the premiership and no one has even come closer. Here look at the statistic from the last 3 seasons to assist you in your football betting. Betting in football has it unexpected moment that make the game so exciting and beautiful.

2005/6 Chelsea - 91 points, Man 83 points, Liverpool 82 points, Arsenal 67points
2006/2007 Manu U 89 points, Chelsea 83points, Liverpool 68 points, Arsenal 68 points
2007/2008 Maun U 87 points, Chelsea 85, Arsenal83, Liverpool 76 points.

Of course, a club need good players to play a good manager to work out the strategies, and a good management to guide them to reach to the height. It takes years to build a successful system. Fans and sponsorships are important factors too. In addition, there are plenty of millionaires and sponsors who are willing to invest their money to build up their winning system and the team.

However, money alone cannot help to build a successful team. In fact, if you look at the premiership, it is made up of 20 different teams but some of the team is simply unable to meet the tough challenge they are there just imply focus on survival. Many of us should remember that a strong favourite team such as Tottenham a year ago, was consider a hot favourite and it was heavily backed to be the best of the rest, however, is unable to finish in the top half of the premier ship.

In conclusion, it is wiser to back the instead of lay the big four teams to win the tournament. Or you could consider enter into this market later part of the season as most of the bookmakers are offering betting in running on this market.

A Brief History of Sports Bookmaking

The idea of bookmaking originated from Richard Tattersall's horse auction business around the year 1780, in England. Even today, the bookies of English Race tracks set up their respective stalls in what is known as the 'Tattersall Enclosure'. The term 'bookie' was coined from the idea of book making or keeping track of the bets on a notebook. But the honesty of the bookmaker is very important for him to be reputable and successful and the era of the 'honest bookmaker' was ushered in by two men - Fred Swindell and Leviathan Davies in and around the 1850's. Davies also originated the 'odds list' to facilitate the off-track bets.

When it comes to the US of A, t he first bookmaking business was started in 1866 in Philadelphia. It is obvious that the founders of this fine nation were great risk-takers and this idea of betting seemed to flow in that vein very easily. So ever since 1866, America has been betting quite fervently on every possible occasion, often illegally. During the first bets, the events were mainly makeshift horse races, cock fights knuckle brawls. The colonists had carried the tradition of betting with them and hence it flowed in similar veins. The betting was and still is sometimes not only a way to make money but a leisure time activity. So no matter what sports was happening, some one was always there to make a bet; it seems to come naturally to America. May be they inherited it from the English colonists, who knows.

There was a huge buzz surrounding the sports betting scenario and this continued throughout the 19th century and well in to the early 20th century. In the beginning, it was a leisure activity for many and the sport was meant mainly for the upper classes that enjoyed and wagered on it. Post the civil war time; many horse race tracks came up in various places in the eastern region and bettors of all economic backgrounds gathered at those places in large numbers. Since the 1930's horse race betting has been on a steady decline and other sports have taken their place. The horse race tracks reached their peaks in the 1920's when there were over 300 racetracks in the country. In addition to these there were thousands of pool-halls all over America where off-track betting was going on. The halls were connected to the racetracks by telegraph wires through which the news of the race reached the halls.

Betting on professional Baseball gained popularity around the 1800's. The Baseball 'pool cards' came in to existence and they offered a lot of information on the betting options that the person had. But the odds were modified largely to suit the interests of the house. Later, as sports betting became more popular, the publication of sport books gave people to bet on a more level playing field without the bookies.

So that is how betting and book making started and it is still going on in various pockets of the country.

The Truth of Sports Betting

A - Sports Bet deals with people betting on the result of a game of sport. While most forms of gambling are controlled and monitored - Sports Bets are held at most races or games. In the United States, - Sport Bets are allowed to be placed only in the states of Nevada, Oregon and Delaware. Most European countries allow for - bookmaking (conducting - sport wagers). - Legal Sports betting though is found to increase viewership and the sports fan's interest.

Although the biggest fear of - placing sports bets is issue of match fixing. This is taken up very seriously at the international level by the different sport governing bodies, but the amateur and district level events are not strictly monitored.

Many organizations help people in managing their betting money and provide - guides on where to place their bets. A very basic trick is to bet on both teams playing in a particular game and make money out of it disregarding the result.

- Winning Sports Bets requires not much skill. Professionals though are available to provide guidance. All that is to be done is to approach both the bookmakers and ensure that you place lesser money than the total return money and thus make a profit out of it. Bookmakers too will let such things happen by chance and ensure the better gets returns.

In a boxing match between the Unites States boxer and his English opponent, big money would be bet on the American and a certain amount made on the British boxer. The US Bookies will bet on greater odds of winning or long bouts at the ring on the English boxer, the English too would do the same on the US Boxer. The betting pundits would then rely on the odds and place single bets on the boxer of the other nationality, i.e., the U.S.A bookies would place theirs on the British boxer and the British Bookies would do the same on the American. Whichever way the match goes, a full sweep of profits is made.

The major sporting events on which bets are placed include: Rugby, Boxing, Basketball, Tennis, Cricket, Golf, and Hockey.

Most bets now made all come with returns, most advisable though would be to take back all the money put in the first place, although it does not work as the stock market, smaller bets are usually made, than risking losing out big.

Bookies now interest clients in the "Zero Risk" offers, they make a big business over the internet as most transactions are quite easily made over the net.

First of all, the sport event is identified and the date of the match is made known. The offers made by the different bookies are compared, and finally we have to guarantee our bets and try getting maximum returns by going over all the outcomes, similar to the placing bets on all outcomes and ensuring a profit.

The greatest caution would be to not throw ourselves in temptation's way, and make - sports betting a fun activity as you can risk losing large amounts of money.

English Football Bet - Learn How to Consistently Win Betting on English Football!

Many Americans and even many other hardcore gamblers in other countries use an English football bet to earn them millions of dollars each year betting sports online. Not only do individuals use English football bet to earn a huge income online, but others use a college football bet. The best football bet tip that I can recommend is DO YOUR RESEARCH AND HOMEWORK BEFORE SELECTING A PICK.

Most people will sit there and look at the nfl odds of winning each game for 10 seconds or less. They will make a spur of the moment decision based on a gut feeling. Half the time they do not even know who is injured, the Won-Loss record, who is at home and who is away, etc...It's called analyzing the trends of each game and without proper analysis, you will be just dumping your hard earned money into the sports book of your choice. When betting on sports you need to do at least 8 hours of research a DAY analyzing everything you can think of about each specific team. If you don't have time to do 8 hours of research a day I suggest hiring a professional sports handicapper for all your picks. You can't go wrong by paying a small monthly fee for a professional handicapper that wins 82% of their games or better.

I use to win about 55% or better of all my games and I thought that I was making reasonably enough money. 55% isn't bad, that is more than breaking even and gave me enough spending cash each week. I just wasn't happy with a 55% winning percentage, so I did my research and homework and found the best professional sports picker in the world, all for under 50 bucks a month. The professional sports handicapper I found guarantee's you have a profitable month, or your money back! This is probably the only true professional handicapper that is NOT IN IT for the money. I made a large NCAA football bet last year that was right on the money! I have extreme confidence in this professional sports handicapper and you should use them to.

The problem that many people face when trying to turn into a professional sports bettor is that they lose a few games and then completely give up. This is a horrible philosophy to have because even the best professional handicappers in the world come to a bumpy road a few times a year. You may have just experienced your fall and your rise was just about to come. The great thing about betting online is that you can bet football internet games right in the comfort of your own home. You place a bet online, minutes after the specific game is over you can cash out immediately. In just 2 days my money I cash out is automatically placed directly into my checking account. I sincerely wish you all the best of luck finding your professional sports handicapper!
